Meet The Council

Reeve Robert Sharpe

Reeve Sharpe was born at the Minnedosa General Hospital. He was raised in Rapid City and graduated from Elton Collegiate in 1970. Robert married Lois in 1974 and they currently reside on the old family farmstead where they breed purebred black Simmental beef cattle. They have two children, Michael who manages a theatre for Landmark Cinemas in Courtney, British Columbia and Lesley who is married to Trent Hedley. Trent and Lesley farm in Rapid City, raising commercial Simmental/Angus beef cattle. Robert and Lois enjoy four grandchildren, Kristen, Megan, Carter and Brooklyn.

Robert served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1969. He served with artillery, infantry and airborne regiments until his discharge in 1981 with the rank of sergeant. He is currently a director of the Keystone Simmental Association and is a past president of the Manitoba Simmental Association.

Reeve Sharpe was first elected to council as Councilor for Ward # 1 in 1997 and has held the position as Head of Council since 2002.

Councilor W. K. Wolstenholme Ward 2

I was born at home in the Pettapiece District, west of Rapid City. I attended the Little Saskatchewan School then went to Rapid City for high school. From there I worked at various jobs and returned to the farm in 1965, where we still live. I got married to Sharon in 1967 and we have 3 children, Brian, Dayna & Craig. I worked with Cubs and Scouts for 19 years, as a leader, trainer and District Commissioner. I was first elected to Council in 2006 and am now in my second term.

Edward (Ted) Rudneski was born on section 35-15-19 in 1933 in the RM of Saskatchewan. I started school in Basswood. In 1946 we moved to the Maline District and continued my schooling at Weir School. When I quit school, I went out into the work force. In 1957 I took the home farm over. In 1958 I married Ivy Tuttle and we raised a family of three boys and one girl. In 1981 I ran for councillor and won my election. Since then I have had three elections over the years; now I’m on my thirtieth year.
